The NSF/NCAR Gulfstream-V (G-V) :: New Frontiers in Atmospheric Science
In future decades, the G-V will fly high over lakes and oceans studying the water cycle. It will fly fast across America, tracking pollution of urban centers, and land use in the country-side.
As part of international campaigns it will deploy farther afield to study ice sheets in the Arctic and Antarctic. America’s new environmental research platform will explore new frontiers in atmospheric science making discovery after discovery because of its new capabilities and instruments.
Every four years the worlds’ champion athletes set new records as they perform in the words of the Olympic motto - faster, higher, stronger. For HIAPER (G-V) the coming decades will see scientific performances that are - higher, faster, farther.
